Croton Shores Lake

Croton Pond is 1,320 acres of backwaters created by Croton Dam, the Grand Old Lady of Consumers Energy Company. Croton Dam has been in continuous operation since 1907. The scenic old red brick dam overlooks one of the Midwest's best trout streams, the mighty Muskegon.

Croton Pond offers over four miles of lake and river water for boating and fishing. You can try your luck with these types of fish:

  • Salmon
  • Rainbow Trout
  • Bluegill
  • Smallmouth Bass
  • Summer Pike
  • Steelhead
  • Brown Trout
  • Sunfish
  • Perch
  • Walleye

Fishing on the Muskegon River is a local pastime. Local fishing guides can help you find the places to catch the big ones. You may wish to contact:
